Our Mission:
Piedmont Language School is committed to preparing and inspiring children for continued study, work and citizenship in our global community. We will support, advocate and create opportunities for foreign language learning and cultural exposure for all children in Piedmont schools.
Our History:
The Piedmont Language School was founded some 40 years ago by a group of visionary Piedmont parents who passionately believed that children should have the chance to learn foreign languages during the elementary school years, when language learning comes most naturally to them. Since then, thousands of students have been introduced to Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese and French through Piedmont Language School programs, gaining a head start in becoming global citizens.
Our Program:
Our dedicated team of teachers, most of whom are native speakers, follows a developmental program. Beginners’ classes start with a foundational oral approach and then advance to reading and writing as students’ knowledge grows.
The Piedmont Language School currently offers classes in Spanish and Mandarin to children as young as kindergarten-age and up to sixth grade. This year, more than 300 children enjoy learning languages and discovering cultures through our programs.
We are committed to bringing language to as many children as possible, and offer scholarships on a need basis.
